Family safety gear
Most children who are harmed are harmed by someone they know: only about 1 in 10 abusers is a stranger. So this list starts with online safety, kid-safe phones and prevention education, and ends with home security.
How we make money from this page: some links below are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the company pays us a commission, at no extra cost to you. Companies can't pay to be listed or ranked, and nothing here appears on anyone's registry listing.
We're still putting this list together. In the meantime, the Family Safety Guide has free tips.
What no gadget replaces
- Talk with your kids early and often about body safety, secrets and trusted adults.
- Know the adults in your kids' lives, online and off.
- Check the places your kids spend time on the map, and use official sources: your state registry and nsopw.gov.
